Class B betalactamases

Ambler class B beta-lactamases are defined by amino acid structure that utilize a bivalent metal ion, such as zinc; these beta-lactamases are also known as the metallo-beta-lactamases. Genes in this class include the IMP, VIM, and NDM beta-lactamases.
