Phenicol

The phenicol antibiotic class contains drugs that are naturally synthesized by Streptomyces species. They are characterized by a nitrophenyl core molecule. The most commonly used drug of the phenicol class is chloramphenicol, though florfenicol is also commonly used in veterinary medicine.
