Cationic antimicrobial peptides
The cationic antimicrobial peptides (CAMPs) span a wide range of natural biosynthetic products that disrupt the bacterial outer membrane, leading to cell death and prevention of bacterial cell proliferation. Few resistance genes are known for the CAMPs.
- Cationic peptide-resistant 16S ribosomal subunit protein
- Defensin-resistant mprF
- Edeine acetyltransferase
- Lipid A modification
- Polymyxin B resistance regulator
