The tlr genes encode a pump that acts specifically on tylosin. It has also been shown to act on lincosamides. The ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters are a superfamily of transporter proteins that are known to act on a variety of molecules including antibiotis. In this case, these pumps have been characterized as acting specifically on MLS class drugs.
