BRP

Bleomycin resistance protein; synonyms include BlmS, BlmA, and ble. Actinomyces, the bacteria that produces bleomycin naturally, has innate resistance to the molecule via bleomycine resistance proteins (BRPs). These proteins bind the drug and interfere with its mechanism of action, rendering it harmless to the Actinomyces bacteria.
